4:30 a.m. and we're all in the car off for a Worley Family Adventure. Headed for new territories. (Well, new to us anyway!) We're on our way to Kentucky for my nephew, Jason's, wedding. Jason is my brother's youngest son. He just graduated from college and is starting a new chapter in his life. And we wouldn't miss it for the world!
I always considered my car a roomy sedan. That was, until five of us and all our gear, snacks, pillows, electronics, books and, and, and............all piled in there. And the longer we traveled, the smaller it seemed to get. It went from roomy, to cozy, to, well......cramped. But we all wanted to go to Kentucy so badly, we made it work.
Around 5:30 a.m., somewhere on the other side of Dothan, the sun peeked out for a few seconds to greet us with a new day. It was a really fresh crisp morning. Wonderful travel weather. Just really overcast.
10:00 a.m. we stopped in Blount Springs, Alabama, just North of Montgomery, to refuel and stretch. This guy met us out front of the very old but still functioning store. I felt like we stepped out of our car right into the 70's.

He (we'll just call him Tom) greeted us at the car door and talked to us the whole time we pumped our gas. No doubt telling us about the area and asking us where we were headed. I scratched his head and thanked him for the info. He meowed again a few times as we were all loading up to get back on the road as if to say, "Ya'll come back now, ya hear!"
The weather was overcast pretty much all day. We hadn't seen the sun since Chipley the day before. It was real nasty weather all the way through Montgomery. Good sleeping weather obviously!
I-65 was insane with exits every which way. I'm glad that Florida interstates aren't that way. Go, FDOT! Jimmy said he felt like we were trying to maneuver around in a big bowl of spaghetti!
Next stop........................Tennessee!!!
Check back tomorrow for the next installment of our adventures to Kentucky!

Looks like fun. Glad you got the kinks worked out.
The cat story is so funny!!
I'll be back later to check out the next installment.
Ahhh yes, we have made the trip up to Kentucky, several, several times. Have you ever noticed a sign, I believe it is near Montgomery, that says Go to Church, or the Devil WILL GET YOU! ? We got a picture of it the last time we went up North, but it was raining and it didn't turn out well, but you can still make it out. We think it is hilarious. Also, in North Alabama they have signs that tell you to move over for stopped emergency vehicles, WHEN CLEAR... hilarious. We didn't get a picture of those, but so funny!
HAHAHA! We DID see that sign, J! Jimmy actually saw it and pointed it out to the rest of us. Too funny!
